TechnoFlux: The Hungarian techno scene as a safe space and cultural sanctuary
Graphic Design and Installation/Senior Project
2025

TechnoFlux documents how Hungary's techno community creates spaces of acceptance and mutual support amid increasing external pressures. Through ethnographic methods and stakeholder interviews, the study examines how these environments function as both a sanctuary for marginalized individuals and a site of cultural resistance against authoritarianism. The research explores the community's safety protocols, chosen family structures, and protective strategies that have evolved into forms of political action, highlighting how Hungary's techno scene maintains its role as a vital haven within a challenging political landscape.
